Doors open for India to join IPI pipeline project: Iran

Updated on Feb 10, 2010 09:11 pm IST

Seyed Mehdi Nabizadeh, Iranian Ambassador to India said that doors were open for India to join Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project but pointed out that there should be "some limit" to the time being taken to arrive at a decision. India walked out of the 2,775 km IPI project in 2008 mainly due to the huge transit fee demanded by Pakistan. Addressing a news conference in New Delhi, Seyed Mehdi Nabizadeh said that negotiations with Pakistan had reached the final stage.
