Drought-hit J'khand villagers seek permission to commit suicide

Villagers of the drought-affected Jarda Village of Jharkhand, facing a severe drought due to the poor monsoon, have asked the state government to give them permission to commit suicide. The villagers wrote a letter to the governor of the state, demanding either essential provisions or permission to commit suicide. Meanwhile, Sunil Kumar, the Sub-Divisional Officer of the region said the situation is being handled by the authorities, who have been instructed to provide the villagers with required facilities.
