Edict will be carried out says SGPC chief

President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Avtar Singh Makkar on Wednesday said that the edict from the Akal Takht, on vacation of all premises of the Dera Sacha Sauda by May 27, would be carried out in letter and in spirit. Makkar also appealed the sect's followers to come back into the mainstream. Meanwhile, thousands of paramilitary and riot police were deployed in Punjab and Haryana, fearing outbreak of violence.
