Education scheme for Muslim girls in Bihar

In a country where girls are considered a burden on their family, the government has come up with a new scheme for their education. Human Resources Development Minister inaugurated a scheme called 'HUNUR' for imparting free education for Muslim girls in Bihar. A panel appointed by the federal government in 2007 has said that Muslims in northern India, especially women, lagged in education and rigidity in the society due to which they remained neglected.
