Election Commission gears up for UP elections

Gearing up for next year's polls in Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission (EC) launched a special van to spread awareness among voters in Lucknow on Thursday. Amid much fanfare, chief election commissioner Shahabuddin Yaqoob Quraishi flagged off the van in the presence of senior EC officials and locals in Lucknow. The specially equipped van would be touring the state in the run up to the 2012 assembly polls and help resolve the complaints of the voters.
