EU observers to watch trial of Binayak Sen

The European union has decided to send a team of its observers to witness the trial of human rights activist Binayak Sen in Chhattisgarh High Court scheduled on Monday. The team would also comprise delegates from six of its member states. The External Affairs Ministry has received a formal request in this regard, which it has in turn forwarded to the Chhattisgarh government. The state government has sent the request to the High Court to let it take a final call.
