Farmers take up sunflower cultivation in Punjab

Encouraged by good returns, farmers in large numbers have taken up sunflower cultivation at Ludhiana. The area under sunflower cultivation in Punjab has drastically increased as compared to previous years. Punjab today boasts of five to six thousand hectares of land under sunflower cultivation. The Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) organised a seminar at Ludhiana in order to familiarise with sunflower cultivation.
