Power supply to a section of Sikandara in Agra was disrupted after a 100 MVA transformer installed at a sub-station caught fire on Saturday. Flames and smoke billowed out of the 220 KVA sub-station, which feeds various 33 KVA, sub-stations. The incident was reported yesterday evening when employees were still at the sub-station. Authorities at the Dakshinanchal Distribution Company rushed to the site, but were clueless about the cause of fire. Officials said that the actual reason was yet to be traced. However, they suspected that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
