Condemning the shootout perpetrated by unidentified gunmen on Sunday in New Delhi, Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy said that the incident would not hamper the enthusiasm for the upcoming Commonwealth Games. Reddy said this while addressing reporters after inaugurating the state-of-the-art lighting system at the city's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the venue for the track and field events in athletics as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. Allaying public fears, Reddy assured that the security arrangements were in place to ensure safety of all delegates and tourists attending the mega event.
