Five hi-tech speedboats to protect Mumbai coastline

In order to boost up efforts to secure the Maharashtra coastline, the state government on Sunday inducted five hi-tech speedboats for sea patrolling. These new boats, equipped with sophisticated arms, advanced communications and navigation features, were inducted into the police fleet at a function by state's Home Minister R.R. Patil. Meanwhile, Director General of Police (DGP) of the state D. Sivanandan informed that the high-speed boats are well equipped with AK 47 and LMGs to face any kind of situation.
