Flood fury continues in Punjab, Haryana

Gushing waters of flooded Satluj and Yamuna Rivers have caused lot of damage in Punjab and Haryana. According to reports, almost seven villages of Ferozepur district in Punjab have totally sunk, leaving many homeless. In Ludhiana, the River Satluj has caused destruction of hectares of standing crops and several villages. However, according to local authorities rescue operations have been initiated and currently situation is under control. Almost 50,000 cusecs of water has been released from the Bhakranangal Dam resulting in steep rise in the water level of River Satluj.
