With the level of flooded River Satluj flowing well over the danger mark, the low-lying areas have been massively affected by floods in Ferozepur district in Punjab, crippling normal life and leaving many stranded. Scores of families have been rendered homeless while expansive stretches of agricultural lands have been swallowed by the floodwaters. With the flooded streams and rivers refusing to ebb, the locals are worried in the absence of any assistance from the local administration. Meanwhile, in Motihari city Bihar too, the flood situation continued to remain grim, as people struggled to find ways to protect themselves.
