FM worried over inflation

Finance Minister P Chidambaram has expressed concern over India's skyrocketing inflation. The already high inflation rate touched 8.1 per cent in the week ending May 17, above a median forecast of 7.96 per cent. Chidambaram revealed that the inflation rate for all the commodities stood at 8.1 per cent and that for the primary commodities was 8.86. He said that authorities may take more steps to control inflation if needed.
