Gilgit-Baltistan order not to meddle with Kashmir status
Updated on Sept 04, 2009 09:05 pm IST
The recently approved 'Gilgit-Baltistan Empowerment and Self Governance Order 2009' will have no impact on the special status granted to Kashmir. Congress leader Saifuddin Soz made this clear on Thursday. Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had announced a package for Balawaristan or Pakistan occupied Gilgit Baltistan on August 30, terming it as being under the purview of self-governance and internal autonomy.
