Government akin to British: Shanti Bhushan
Updated on Aug 16, 2011 08:58 pm IST
Former Law Minister of India and social activist Shanti Bhushan condemned the central government after they arrested veteran social activist Anna Hazare in New Delhi on Tuesday. Bhushan, who was detained by the Delhi police after the detention of Anna, said that the tactics of the government were akin to those of the British. However, Filmmaker Muzaffar Ali said that Anna Hazare should realise that civil movements must work within constitutional limits. He also said that more than Anna Hazare, it was the people's conscience that would help them fight corruption.
