Government’s economic reforms, ‘anti-people’: TMC
Updated on Sept 26, 2012 01:20 pm IST
Former ally of the TMC, Saugata Roy dubbed the central government's economic reforms as 'anti-people' and vowed to launch agitation against its policies. Speaking to media persons in Kolkata, Roy said that protests against the Congress Party would continue in wake of its recent reforms. The biggest partner of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's government formally withdrew support on September 21st over big-ticket economic reforms that have cheered investors but sparked nationwide protests. TMC pulled out its six ministers and 19 lawmakers in lower house of parliament, reducing Singh's coalition to a minority government and bringing even more instability to an already volatile political landscape.
