Govt committed to effective Lokpal Bill

In a fresh attempt to end the deadlock over Lokpal Bill, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today called for an all-party meeting in New Delhi Delhi to achieve a consensus on the withstanding Bill. During the meet, the Prime Minister said that the UPA government is committed to an effective Lokpal to check corruption. The bill could not be passed on the last day of the Winter Session in Rajya Sabha amid pandemonium.
