Govt defends petrol price hike

Defending the oil companies decision latest hike to petrol prices, union civil aviation minister Ajit Singh, today said that the hike was the result of depreciation of Indian rupee in the international market.Congress leader Jagdambika Pal also defended the decision by saying that it was imperative to hike the price of petrol. Meanwhile, the Delhi government has assured to provide relief to people of the state.
