The RTI revelation comes at a point when the Planning Commission has set a new limit to the poverty line cut off. The Planning Commission has earlier set the limit of the poverty line at those who earn Rs 23 a day. The Commission had also made clear that on an average 16 rupees was enough to have a wholesome meal.
