The Opposition parties slammed the government for not being able to pass the Lokpal Bill in the Rajya Sabha. CPI (M) Member of Parliament Sitaram Yechury claimed the conspiracy was hatched by the government to avoid vote after the debate in the Upper House since it did not have sufficient numbers. Bahujan Samaj Party MP Satish Chandra Mishra said that the government never wanted to present a strong Lokpal bill.
