Updated on Jan 31, 2010 09:56 pm IST

Responding to the Maoists' announcement of holding a dialogue on certain terms, Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren on Saturday appealed to them to give up violence and assured them that their terms would be considered. Reportedly, the Maoists have put forth conditions for talk with Jharkhand Government including lifting the ban on the outfit and immediate release of some of their leaders. On January 28, Home Minister P Chidambaram had also asked the Maoists to come forward for a dialogue provided they abjure violence.
