Govt to launch direct cash transfer scheme from January: Chidambaram

Union finance minister P Chidambaram has announced that the government would roll out direct cash transfer scheme for subsidy beneficiaries from January 01, 2013. Chidambaram said that initially it would be launched in 51 districts of India, spread over 16 states as a pilot project.
