Graeme Smith

As the cool, aggressive and defensive man in the field, Graeme Smith is the current skipper of South African team. Born on 1st February, 1981, Smith is meaty, muscular and mighty. The 29 year old Proteas skipper succeeded Shaun Pollock after the 2003 Cricket World Cup. A tall, left-handed opening batsman he belongs to a line of aggressive batsmen in this era of defensive cricketers, no matter whether it is a Test match or a T20. He has captained South Africa since he was appointed at the age of 22 in April 2003. His score of 259 (in a Test match v England in 2003) is the highest by a foreign player at Lord's. He has Scored 443 runs at an average of 49.22 and a strike-rate of 104.48 at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, scoring five half centuries. He made his Test debut in 2002 with a bang by smashing quick 68 runs in the second innings against Australia.
