Guru Purnima celebrated

Hundreds and thousands of devotees thronged temples of Varanasi on Sunday to celebrate Guru Purnima coinciding with the full moon day. People paid respects to their gurus in the holy city that houses innumerable religious schools. Devouts chanted hymns and made long queues to pay their respects to their gurus.Guru Purnima is the day when Hindus gather to celebrate and to honor Vyasa, the original guru and traditional author of the Vedas, along with their own gurus.
