Gyaneshwari Express attack leaves villagers under constant fear

Although, police has arrested Sameer Mahato, a functionary of the Maoist backed People's Committee against Police Atrocities (PCPA), in connection with the Gyaneshwari Express attack, the incident has left locals scared, who now live in constant fear not only of the rebels but even security forces. Maoist rebels in recent months have stepped up attacks in response to a government security offensive to clear them out of their jungle bases.
