Heavy rains lash north India, Delhi still awaiting

Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Uttar Pradesh today bringing much needed respite from the prolonged heat wave. First spell of downpour brought an end to the long awaited monsoon in northern India, which has been reeling under unprecedented heat. Kamna Sharma, a local from a Kanpur said that rainfall has brought cheers to the people. Lucknow also witnessed heavy showers in the early morning leaving many areas inundated.
