Heavy rains : NDRF, NDMA undergoing rescue operations

India's National Disaster Management Authority is grappling to control the situation in the affected areas of northern India. On Tuesday, a special meeting of NDMA and the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) was called in New Delhi to assess the rescue operations that are being carried out in the affected areas. Apart from Uttarakhand which is the most affected, other prone states include Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
