India's hockey crisis deepened as Hockey India, after failing to resolve the outstanding payments issue at a meet on Tuesday, served a fresh 48-hour ultimatum to the striking players to resume training or get axed from the World Cup squad. Hockey India officials blamed the players of being greedy and putting money before the country. International Hockey Federation also backed Hockey India, calling the players' demands unacceptable.
