Homage paid to Bhupen Hazarika

Hundreds of Bhupen Hazarika's admirers on Tuesday paid homage to the veteran singer by lighting more than 10,000 lamps and candles in Guwahati. Hazarika had recently passed away in Mumbai due to multi-organ failure. The legend, who was a poet, journalist, singer, lyricist, musician, filmmaker and writer, was known for his compositions of ballads comprising traditional northeastern Assamese music and lyrics.
