Hooligans disrupt peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar

The protest conducted to take forward the fight against rape at Jantar Mantar on Sunday turned ugly when a group of around 50 people, who reportedly infiltrated the peaceful protest tried to break down police barricades. Hundreds of protesters had gathered to mourn the death of the gangrape victim who was cremated on sunday morning. According to reports, a group affiliated to a political party tried to storm the barricades and clash with the police. Police however restrained from using force to disperse the unruly group.
