Come January 15 and the residents of the Capital would be required to carry a photo identity card. Lieutenant-governor Tejendra Khanna's announcement on January 4 makes it mandatory for citizens of Delhi to carry an ID card. The identity card is supposed to have the person's photograph and should be issued by the government. However, the police chief YS Dadwal said that other ID cards like school, college and office ID cards too could be acceptable.
