IED blast in Imphal, 1 AR personnel killed, 10 injured

An improvised explosive device blast rocked Kumbi Kangsoibi Khongbal culvert, around 3 Kms North West of Kumbi Police Station in Imphal in the wee hours today, killing one 33 AR personnel and injuring 10 others. The IED bomb planted at the culvert was exploded by a remote control, leaving 11 of the 33 Assam Rifles Personnel injured of which four were serious. The injured personnel were evacuated by an Army Helicopter at Leimakhong Army Head Quarter Hospital. This is the third bomb attack on the security personnels within this month, the first being at Keishampat Junction leaving three AR personnel injured and the second one near Tiddim Groiund injuring one 18 Sikh Regiment personnel injured and one civilian.
