Illegal mining case: HC to hear SM Krishna's plea today

External affairs minister S M Krishna's petition seeking to quash the FIR registered against him in the illegal mining case is set to come up for hearing at the Karnataka high court on Wednesday. The private complaint based on which Lokayukta police registered the FIR has alleged that Krishna as Karnataka chief minister from 1999 to 2003 took decisions that facilitated illegal mining and did not protect the state forests.
