India successfully carried out the second launch of a single stage interceptor missile against an incoming Ballistic missile at the Wheeler Island near Bay of Bengal, close to the Dhamra coast in eastern Orissa on December 6. The officials said the endo-atmospheric interceptor collided with its target at an altitude of 15 km, exactly as designed.
