India needs response system to combat corruption: Kiran Bedi
Updated on Jun 08, 2011 08:53 pm IST
Social activist and former IPS officer, Kiran Bedi on Wednesday said India immediately needs a response system to combat bribe and corruption. Addressing supporters of anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare during his one-day hunger strike in New Delhi, Bedi called for a system that permitted anyone asked to pay bribe to directly contact the law. Bedi further said that the movement started by Hazare aims to develop a corruption free country. Hazare's day-long fast is in support of Indian yoga guru Baba Ramdev's fast-unto-death, which was disrupted in the wee hours of Sunday by Delhi police, leaving several injured.
