An improved version of the indigenously built multi-barrel rocket launcher 'Pinaka' was successfully tested from the defence base at Chandipur-on-Sea in Balasore. The defence scientists and the Indian Army conducted the test jointly. The Pinaka project has been a significant success for the DRDO. Its officials said that the success of the test would determine the production of the advanced version for use by the defence forces.
