India welcomes Oz move to sell uranium to India

Union Foreign Minister S M Krishna has welcomed Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard's bid to end uranium sales ban to India, to meet its growing energy needs. Krishna made these remarks on the sidelines of the meeting of foreign ministers of various countries at the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC) in Bangalore. Gillard has been urging the lifting of the ban on uranium exports to India as the South Asian country has shown remarkable nuclear compliance.
