The Indian cricket team returned home in the early hours of Thursday, following its humiliating exit from the World Cup in the West Indies. Security was tight at airports in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore where the players and team officials arrived in separate batches. Players Sachin Tendulkar, Ajit Agarkar and Zaheer Khan, alongwith coach Greg Chappell made a quiet entry into Mumbai. Reports said the team was whisked away to a hotel amid tight security and will reach their respective homes in the morning. BCCI officials were also present at the airport to receive the cricketers and expressed their solidarity with the team at a stage when Indian cricket is at an all time low.
