Intelligentsia rules out Kashmir division on communal line

The intelligentsia of India's restive Jammu and Kashmir is against the division of the state on communal lines but supported more autonomy under Article 370 of the Constitution and devolution of powers to the region and sub-regions, said Dileep Padgaonkar, who heads the three-member interlocutors panel on Wednesday. They warned that any attempt to bifurcate or trifurcate the state would create more problems for minorities living in a particular region or sub-region.
