Israel doubts sanctions against Iran

Israel's foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman has said that he doubts Europe's commitment to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. He added that so far, the efforts seem to be more focussed on calming Israel rather than imposing sanctions on Tehran. He also toned down the speculation that Israel might be too nervous about Iran's atomic programme to launch an attack against it. The speculation that Israel, which considers Iran's programme to be an existential threat, may launch an attack was fuelled by a United Nations report last month, which stated that Tehran appeared to have worked on designing a nuclear weapon.
