J&K results: Mehbooba Mufti says mandate below expectations, will take time to form govt

The results for Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections appeared to be pointing towards a hung assembly with PDP emerging as the single largest party which won in 24 seats is leading in 4. Speaking on the occasion, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said they are not completely satisfied with the mandate and will will continue exploring possibilities before forming a government. "We are not in a hurry to cobble up numbers. Will explore possibilities to give a credible govt," said Mehbooba. Meanwhile, BJP also made gains by winning 25 seats and was ahead on 2, all in Jammu. However, BJP failed to make inroads in the Valley.
