Rural development minister Jairam Ramesh said on Tuesday that a greater involvement of security forces in Maoist-affected districts would help in bringing effective development in the rural areas of the region. Ramesh was addressing a workshop called, “National Workshop on Appropriate Development Strategies for Effective Implementation of Rural Development Schemes of the IAP (Integrated Action Plan) Districts” at New Delhi. The workshop, which was chaired by home minister P Chidambaram, saw the presence of 60 district magistrates of the Maoist affected states.
