JPC would have delayed 2G-scam probe: Sibal

Updated on Dec 17, 2010 08:45 pm IST

Telecom minister Kapil Sibal on Thursday slammed Bharatiya Janata Party's demand of a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) saying that it would have delayed the process of investigating the 2G-telecom scam. Sibal's statement came in response to the Supreme Court's directives on the scam probe. Sibal further said that JPC is not authorised to conduct investigation and it would have also allowed the CBI to investigate which would have delayed the inspection by around six months.
