Judge's statement on Bhagavad Geeta sparks debate

The recommendation by a judge of the Allahabad High Court to make the Bhagvad Gita the national dharma shastra or 'religious doctrine' of the country has sparked a controversy. This recommendation was made by Justice Srivastava, who has earlier said that the Muslim run educational institutions in Uttar Pradesh are not entitled to the benefits enjoyed by the minority institutions.
