Kashmir hosts national football championship

Kashmir hosted the national football championship, Santosh Trophy, on Sunday after a span of three decades. State chief Ghulam Nabi Azad kicked off the tournament at the Baisakhi stadium, in Srinagar. A total of 31 states and union territories will compete for the top honours in the 62nd edition of the national football event. Hosts Jammu and Kashmir trounced minnows Puducherry 2-0 as the inaugural match drew hordes of spectators.
