Kashmir received the first snowfall of the season on Friday, November 30, raising hopes of a favourable tourism season. The snowfall, ahead of the season in Gulmarg, 32 miles from the summer capital of Srinagar has been welcomed by the locals, whose livelihood depend on tourism. Meanwhile the weather turned pleasant in Himachal Pradesh's capital Shimla, raising prospects of a good tourist season.
