Kashmir's apiculturists hopeful of a big harvest

With the honey production in Jammu & Kashmir showing considerable surge, the authorities have set the target for honey export for 2009-10 at 350 metric tonnes. Honey production in the Kashmir valley that has 20,000 bee colonies at present has touched all time high of 200 metric tonnes with some of it finding space on English tables. The production is expected to increase in the valley and the expected target of honey production for the year 2008-09 is 350 tonnes.
