Kids tying Rakhis to trees to save environment

The popular Hindu festival of Raksha Bandhan which symbolises bondage between siblings and is marked by a sister tying Rakhi, a sacred thread around the wrist of her brother, had a touch of concern for the mother nature in Tamil Nadu as the students of the Velammal Vidyalaya at Chennai tied Rakhis to trees on Tuesday. It was Governor Surjit Singh Barnala himself who led the students by tying a Rakhi around a plant.
