Lalgarh villagers protest Chidambaram's visit in the region

Residents of Salboni village, in Lalgarh of West Bengal state on Sunday held a demonstration opposing the visit of union Home Minister P Chidambaram's visit to the Maoist hotbed. Many villagers who support Maoist took part in the protest. Effigies of Chidambaram were burnt amidst noisy slogans asking the central minister to go back. Chidambaram reached Lalgarh on Sunday, where the State and central forces have carried out joint operations against suspected Maoists and regained many affected areas.
