As a major part of the country eagerly waits for the rainy season to begin, monsoons have already started to wreak havoc in some parts of India. Heavy downpour unleashed landslides in Kalimpong of West Bengal blocking a crucial route further connecting northeastern states. Distressed travellers stuck on the route for the past several hours shared their woes with mediapersons. Though no casualties or destruction of property was reported in Kalimpong, nature expressed its fury in Chamoli of Uttarakhand wherein people had a narrow escape from a disaster.
